Wifi Phone

A Wifi? phone looks much like a cordless phone. The difference is a wifi phone will use the wifi network to connect to the LAN? and therefore, the internet. As with ATAs, the owner can do an IP Address Lock which will make it easier for the carrier to identify scam calls. When you receive your wifi phone, you would have to use the number keys to enter your Wifi network including entering the password for the LAN. Once that is done, the person can go to their computer, and log into the phone’s IP address to where they will enter the credentials. This will allow the owner to make and receive calls quicker and easier since they aren’t using the full number keypad.

Future wifi phones could theoretically have a touch screen like a smartphone. If that was to be the case, then logging into a network will be much easier. This could also mean that they could setup credentials without the need to log into the phone’s GUI? to get the credentials setup. For now, a wifi phone looks much like a cordless phone, but again will use the network directly rather than an access point.
