SIP Calls

Any SIP call is treated as a domestic call. This will also include +878 and +883 telephone numbers. A kaldan citizen making a SIP call can use SIP Broker‘s system to make the call with just prepending 111 before the call. This will allow a call to go through using the Internet System, and never having to go to a POTS phone network.

KaTel will also get a SIP Broker prefix which will hopefully be the same as the International Calling Code. In addition, a person can call a Kaldan number using the standard SIP format of <telephone-number>@tel.ka. A customer can also choose to disable SIP calls if they wish to. If so, they can still make SIP calls, however incoming SIP calls will go to voicemail.
